Spend 20 minutes behind the scenes with our Keepers and the Giant Tortoises, learning about their personalities. This is your chance to feed a Giant and learn about how they live in the wild.
Who is it for?
Up to three participants aged 6+. Due to health and safety reasons, participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a participant aged 18+.
What does the encounter cost?
£35 per person.
When is it available?
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 pm for 20 minutes behind the scenes in the Giant Tortoise enclosure.
Giant Tortoise Experience Accessibility Information
The Giant Tortoise Experience provides exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas of our giant tortoise habitat. For the safety of both participants and animals, it is important that all guests are able to understand and independently follow instructions from our expert animal keepers at all times.
Before booking, please consider the following:
- Participants must be aged 6 years or over.
- Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying participant aged 18 or over.
- Participants must be able to independently follow verbal safety instructions and respond appropriately to changing situations.
- The experience involves walking through the giant tortoise habitat and navigating a variety of surfaces, including sand, grass and uneven ground. A reasonable level of mobility is required.
- Participants should be comfortable being in close proximity to animals and following guidance from our expert animal keepers throughout the experience.
- Due to the nature of the environment and the animals involved, participants must be able to remain calm and follow staff instructions at all times.
