Get up close.. really close to our Spectacled Bears. Go behind the scenes and enjoy an exclusive up-close encounter with our male bear Rasu. Join our Keepers on the view point to meet Madidi and her cubs Beni and Tuichi (from a safe distance of course!), whilst learning about the feeding and enrichment for our family of bears.
Who is it for?
Ages 18+.
The Encounter can be booked for up to 2 participants.
When is it available?
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday at 12:30pm for 20 minutes behind the scenes.
Please ensure you arrive at the zoo at least 10 minutes before your encounter begins.
What does the encounter cost?
£55 per participant.
Bear Mini Experience Accessibility Information
The Bear Mini Experience provides exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas of our Andean bear habitat. For the safety of both participants and animals, it is important that all guests are able to understand and independently follow instructions from the animal keepers at all times.
Before booking, please consider the following:
- Participants must be aged 18 years or over.
- Participants must be able to independently follow verbal safety instructions and respond appropriately to changing situations.
- The experience involves walking up and down stairs, stepping over thresholds, and navigating areas of uneven ground. A reasonable level of mobility and physical fitness is required.
- The experience takes place in behind the scenes animal care areas that include relatively small indoor spaces.
- Participants may spend time on an elevated viewing balcony overlooking the bear habitat. Therefore, this experience may not be suitable for those with a fear of heights (acrophobia).
- Due to the nature of the environment and the animals involved, participants must be able to remain calm and follow staff instructions throughout the experience.
